Topic: How do children change as they grow older?

Children change as they grow older because like if they don’t like Strawberys they will probly like them when they grow up. Even if baby’s don’t like oranges the will even like it when they turn seven years old. Children also change as they grow older because they GROW!! I do not like Mash patatos but I will like it when I grow up. I love orange juice but I probly won’t like it when I grow up TO! They could probly even grow if they go to country to the city. That’s my favorite part the city. Those are how children change as they grow older. - Carlysha

When child’s have there their birthday they get taller every time that they get their just a little taller every time. Everyone needs to eat healthy things and not bad things. If you don’t eat healthy you will still grow but it is still bad for your body. All baby’s will grow even baby’s that are not in this country or city. Every time a big kid or a small kid will soon be an adult even if it will take forever in their life even if there are a baby.  - By Krysti

When kids get older they start going to bigger grades and then collage. Collage is were you learn important things. Collage is sometimes hard for some people. Collage is when you work hard. A lot of times collage is when you grow up. I think it’s important to go to collage because if your plans fail you need a backup plan. Like if you want to be a singer and you do not get it you need a backup plan. When they graduate collage they will probably get a job - By Taylor

When children grow they start to have memory’s of what they don’t like now but did when they were little kids like if a teenage boy liked Star Wars and he doesn’t now that means he’s growing . When little girls liked dolls but now they like nail polish it means there growing . If they don’t like what they like now you know there growing . Once there was a big bee and I mean really big bee.  He was friends with a guy with an I patch because  he got hit with a ball.  Once  he was a mean guy and he was vary mean to people. The bee told him to be nice to people or people will not like him. So the next week people loved him and he was nice to people. The nice guy told the bee that  he was a vary nice friend to have.  The next week he was vary nice. That is my story. My dad is so fun because he will race and he will win a lot  and it is funny he will be like a cat. My mom is a nice mom but I do not live with her and I miss her so much and she miss me so much too but she will pick me up we will go to her house and it is so fun we play together play with the dog it is fun. My Grandma is amazing of making cookies and I help her make them and they are so good when the are done my Grandpa likes them a lot me too. Learning about Aquifers - by Eating One!

Today a team from the Village of Paw Paw came to teach us about aquifers.

They showed us a model of underground water, layers of dirt, clay and models of wells that go down into the ground to bring up water for our use.  

It was so interesting to see the model and to watch a "contaminant" like oil or chemicals as it flowed into the rivers and streams!  

We got to make "edible aquifers" when they finished, to practice what we had learned.  We used ice cream as a layer of clay, then poured Sprite over the top as the water.  We put crushed Oreos on top to be dirt, sprinkles to be topsoil, little marshmallows to be big rocks and boulders and then we used a nice big straw to be our well going down to find the water!  We even used a drop of red food coloring to demonstrate a contaminant in our system!  

We had no idea that learning about aquifers could be so...YUMMY!
