Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all the mother's, grandmother's and any one who is rockin' the role of mother had a great Mother's Day!  The BUGS were awesome at keeping a secret for THREE MONTHS!  We planted seeds in February and we watched them sprout and grow!  We were a little disappointed that we didn't have any flowers before we took them home for Mother's Day, but we know that they will bloom under the care of our loving moms!

Sharing Day!

We decided to try something new and host our first every Sharing Day on Friday!  Some of the BUGS were looking forward to sharing some of their writing they had done over the past couple of weeks.

Walk to the Library

What a gorgeous day for a walk to the library!

We love our public library!

Do you know how many books, movies and tapes they have available for check out at the library?

(We do!  We asked at the circulation desk!)

last week I walked to the library with my class. we went through a woods! It was really fun at the library we found out how many items there was and we also found out that there is a summer reading program. Ms.Whitney the librarian told us a story about Flip Flap Jack and he was made   of food. It was cute. She showed us a trick that you can do with cats cradle string it”s another game you can play with it the string too.  - by Kolleana

A few weeks ago we went to the library and went past my house and went across Red Arrow Street a street where back in the old days people got arrowheads wich  are very rare these days but on to the trip to the library  we did not get books though but there is a summer kick off though you can win a E-READER its a eltronic that read for you but you could still read if you save the batteries im not sure if looks cool but remember  this READ! Never forget to read dont let your brain rot if it does just READ!-Jaylen

Last week we got to walk to the library and had a lots of fun! First Miss Whitney, the children’s librarian taught us from last year, Flip Flap Jack. There was a song to it. It went like this……...His name was flip flap jack and he danced upon a table a table a table he danced upon a table and his name was flip flap jack. After that was done she showed us the summer reading camp prizes and the end of school kick off party. She showed us Jacobs ladder, a star and how to cut off someones hand on a string!!! Its fake!!! The library is a great place to go and its a friendly place.----- by Avery

First to 100

Zoie was the first in our class to reach 100 AR points!
She is always reading and always on the computer taking a comprehension quiz about the books she reads!
We are all so proud of Zoie and all of her hard work!  

(As Maya said, "I'm so excited, I think I'm going to cry!")

In addition to another AR button and a medal for reaching 100 points, Zoie and Mrs. Koehn will go to lunch together next week to celebrate!

"Poem in My Pocket" Day

Today is national "Poem in My Pocket" day!!  We thought this was a great day to start our new writing unit on poetry!  To kick off our day, I shared a poem with the class that I had written (they will all start writing their own poems next week!!) and then throughout the day we are looking for more great poems to put in our pocket so we can share them with friends!
